About Me

So here’s how the story plays out…

I was born and raised in India (people don’t believe me when I say that because I mysteriously lost my Indian accent somewhere along the way!).

I went to school at UC Irvine to do what every other Indian kid did before the dot com boom – go to medical school. That didn’t go so well for me because I was a horrible student. I just couldn’t pay attention long enough to succeed. More importantly, I was a pretty bad multiple choice test taker, so that was the end of me.

I scraped my way through school but gained much more than the basic education the university system had originally offered. I made some great friendships, learned a ton about myself, grew a lot, fell in love with business (while working at a bank) and met the love of my life. So all in all, it was an incredible experience.

Right out of school, I worked for a small entrepreneurial company and loved every minute of it. I knew from the first day I started there that I wanted to be an entrepreneur myself. The opportunity to build that entrepreneur muscle came shortly after in the form a phone call from a long lost friend. He assured me that he had found the “Big One” and proceeded to sell me on why I absolutely HAD to be in business with him.

Unless you just landed on planet earth, you know that I was being pitched on an MLM deal. (I had no idea, I just wanted to be an entrepreneur and be my own boss!).

Fast forward 5 years later, and I had built up a sizable income in the network marketing industry. Along the way, I met some more incredible people. One of those people became a business mentor and we went on to start a bunch of companies together. We built an IT company and grew it to over 20,000 customers, we started a call center, we built up a training company, we even started an online lead generation firm and were one of Commission Junction’s first clients.

The bottom line is, I was introduced to entrepreneurship in a “drink from a fire hose” experience.

Just so you don’t think it was all peaches and cream, the mentor I mentioned earlier lost his noodle along the way and railroaded us into bankruptcy. It was a fun ride that ended somewhat abruptly (and uncomfortably), but it was a valuable ride all the same. (One that I would gladly take again for what I gained from it).

I started up and sold a couple of companies after that experience and since 2005, have been working with entrepreneurs all over the world helping them startup, grow and sell their companies.

Today, I am somewhat of a mad scientist in the world of entrepreneurship. I’ve learned so much from my personal experience and that of watching thousands of others that I can’t help but come up with systems, solutions and processes to improve the journey of being a business owner.

God has been incredibly good to me (through the ups, downs and harsh discipline). Today, I am excited to share my most compelling breakthrough with the world called The BOSI Quadrant.

When I have a few minutes to spare during the work day, I rant and advocate for free enterprise and small government. I started Entrepreneurs for Conservative Values as a side project and enjoy tinkering with it whenever I get a chance.

I’m also working with a handful of leading-edge Chamber Presidents to help them install my version of the next generation of Chambers of Commerce. You can read some of the preliminary work here.

What else, what else…

I am an avid soccer fan (and marginal player). I play in a mens 30+ league all year round and love every moment of it. I literally plan my entire travel schedule around game times. I refuse to miss a game (so if I ever tell you I have a schedule conflict – it’s a soccer game, not some super-important meeting). I am fanatical about tex mex, Indian and other “big flavor” foods.

I’ve said enough for now, but here’s a summary and overview of my story and “likes”:
